Former Mets great Dwight Gooden has admitted for the first time that he needs help battling the drug and alcohol addictions that have gotten the better of him for decades, according to his ex-wife, who said it was those demons that split up their marriage.
“Monique, I’m tired,” Monique Gooden, 48, told The Post that the former ace said to her following his arrest Monday in Newark, New Jersey, for allegedly driving under the influence, the wrong way, on a one-way street.
