PITTSBURGH — The Mets’ lineup could be on the brink of total collapse.
Lucas Duda and Juan Lagares were both absent from Sunday’s 9-1 loss to the Pirates because of injuries, and there are no guarantees both players will avoid joining a crowded disabled list.
Duda had tightness in his right hamstring from running the bases a day earlier and Lagares had a relapse of pectoral/elbow soreness. Lagares suffered the pectoral injury on a diving catch at Citi Field two weeks ago and the elbow has been an issue since last season.
Both players will be evaluated on Monday, and won’t play if there is any chance of incurring further problems, according to manager Terry Collins.
