One Mets fan told manager Terry Collins just how the entire fan base feels about him.
Collins enjoyed an animated lovefest with the Mets faithfully who made their way down to the seats near the team’s dugout after a 3-2 victory over the Dodgers in the decisive Game 5 of the NLDS at Chavez Ravine Thursday night. As he made his way through the crowd, one man put his arm around Collins, pulled him close and said, “I love you” before planting a serious kiss on the 66-year-old’s cheek.
Collins — managing in his first postseason — gave Mets fans plenty of reasons to “love” him as all his in-game gambles and maneuvers played out exactly as he hope.
