Dillon Gee’s brutally blunt thoughts on bullpen demotion

PHOENIX — Dillon Gee is officially a reliever for the Mets.

After deciding his new six-man rotation was a logistical nightmare, manager Terry Collins informed Gee before Saturday’s 2-1 loss to the Diamondbacks he would be shifted to the bullpen, with opportunities to make occasional starts.

Gee, whom the Mets have been unsuccessful in trading since last offseason, said he understood the decision, but wasn’t happy about it and expressed those concerns to Collins.

“This is not good for anybody,” Gee said. “I feel like the pen has got guys down there who are pitching well and two other guys who are about to join it soon with Bobby [Parnell] and Vic [Black].
