NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — New York Mets pitcher Dillon Gee says he’s against “senseless gun violence,” not gun control.
Gee sent out a series of tweets to clear up any confusion as to why he was pictured taking part in the “Wear Orange” campaign on Tuesday with his teammates, who were asked to pose in T-shirts for National Gun Violence Awareness Day. An avid hunter, Gee later said there was a miscommunication when the image was characterized as part of a gun-control push.
“I felt the need to say that it wasn’t my opinion,” the 29-year-old Texan told Newsday.
