Dillon Gee already getting another start for Mets

Just when Dillon Gee thought he was out, the Mets are pulling him back in.

The right-hander, who was recently booted to the bullpen, is scheduled to make a spot start Sunday against the Braves, but manager Terry Collins was careful to say the Mets are not returning to a six-man rotation.

“As we’ve looked, our starting pitchers have gotten fairly deep in games, so we think they need an extra day right now and so we thought we would put Dillon in there for a spot start,” Collins said Friday. “As we get into next week, we’ll see where we are.
