The Mets and the Braves entered today tied for the third Wild Card spot in the National League. With their 2-1 loss to the Phillies, the Mets are now at the mercy of the Braves to determine their standing in the Wild Card race going into the penultimate week of the regular season.
The returning Francisco Lindor led off the game with a single to shallow center that was almost nabbed by Johan Rojas, but he was unable to come up with it. It wound up being a moot point, as Lindor was stranded by a trio of strikeouts by Cristopher Sánchez.
