DeGrom works around late trouble, limits Nats to two runs

Mets RHP Jacob deGrom escaped a bases loaded, none out jam in the bottom of the sixth inning against the Nationals to end a solid performance on Thursday afternoon in Washington, D.C.

After allowing a single to Brian Goodwin and issuing back-to-back four-pitch walks to Anthony Rendon and Bryce Harper, deGrom got Ryan Zimmerman to pop out to right field, induced a Howie Kendrick line out to shortstop, and struck out Trea Turner looking.

DeGrom was sharp over the first five innings before encountering trouble in the sixth.
