There was no pulling Mets RHP Jacob deGrom after one inning in this start.
DeGrom was masterful in his first start back in Citi Field since hyperextending his elbow against the Braves on May 2. He set the tone early with a 1-2-3 first and second innings that included three strikeouts.
Alex Avila would get the first hit for the Diamondbacks in the third, but deGrom wouldn't let it amount to anything with another scoreless inning. In the top of the fourth, the righty hurler would set down the D-Backs' 2-3-4 hitters on strikes as he continued to rack up his total whiffs on the night.
