Mets RHP Jacob deGrom, who is dealing with a hyperextended right elbow, threw a simulated game on Tuesday in Cincinnati and remains on track to come off the 10-day DL and start on Sunday against the Phillies in Philadelphia.
DeGrom, who will throw a bullpen session on Friday, preferred throwing a simulated game over a regular bullpen session on Tuesday since he wanted to get the repetitions in, he said afterwards.
"I think it was good to stretch it out," deGrom said about the simulated game, adding that he feels like he's "good to go" for Sunday.
