DeGrom leaves game with hyperextended right elbow

Mets RHP Jacob deGrom left his start Wednesday night abruptly with what was revealed to be a hyperextended right elbow.

DeGrom appeared to wince in pain after striking out against Braves starter Sean Newcomb in the bottom of the third innings. He then looked to wince after Nick Markakis hit a single in the top of the fourth inning. He would finish the frame, but looked upset as he walked down into the tunnel leading to the Mets' clubhouse.

The righty allowed just two hits while striking out six in four, shutout innings.
