Jacob deGrom threw 5 1/3 innings in his longest Grapefruit League outing so far as the New York Mets near their opening series against the Atlanta Braves.
DeGrom gave up four runs and seven hits, throwing 72 pitches in his fourth start of the spring, as the Mets lost to the Miami Marlins 7-5. He gave up one run through the first five innings, then allowed hits to three of four batters in the sixth inning before departing.
"That last inning, I'm not real pleased with," deGrom told MLB.com's Bill Whitehead. "Other than that, I feel good.
