It’s been an ugly stretch for David Wright, as he dealt with a back injury that has rendered him ineffective.
But on Saturday, the third baseman delivered a game-winning single with one out in the bottom of the ninth off Milwaukee right-hander Michael Blazek to give the Mets a 5-4 win at Citi Field.
With the bases loaded, Blazek fell behind 3-0 before Wright ripped a line drive to right-center to win the game after hearing boos earlier in the game.
