David Wright will start his final game for the Mets this Saturday at Citi Field. He, nor anyone with the Mets, have said he will retire at the end of the season, though that seems more like semantics based on his and Jeff Wilpon's emotional press conference two weeks ago.
Wright is a Mets legend, as I explained here in a post last week.
However, to most Mets fans, David is more than a bunch of stats. He was our rock. In good times he made us smile and feel a sense of pride only experienced from a great, passionate, homegrown player.
