Earlier this afternoon, Newsday’s Marc Carig reported that David Wright would be shut down for another week because of his lingering back issue.
MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo followed up this report saying that Wright has been officially diagnosed with stenosis, meaning the narrowing of the spiral column.
As of now, Wright remains without a timetable, but the Mets are optimistic that this injury will heal.
This is an absolute crushing blow for the Mets as they were hoping to receive both Wright and Travis d’Arnaud in short time.
