PHILADELPHIA -- New York Mets captain David Wright insists that he did not need a big game to reassure himself that he still can produce despite dealing with spinal stenosis in his lower back.
Perhaps some of the Mets faithful did, though.
Wright homered twice on Monday to collect his first two RBIs of the season as the Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-2.
Wright now has 22 homers at Citizens Bank Park. That’s the most of any visiting player in the ballpark’s history. Carlos Beltran ranks second with 14.
