It was a long and emotional night of baseball at Citi Field for the penultimate game of the 2018 season. David Wright got his two at-bats, as promised. He walked in the first one and popped out in foul territory to the first base side in the second one, making Peter O’Brien public enemy number one to the Citi Field faithful. He made a play in the field and even got his uniform dirty on a slide. His young daughter threw out the first pitch, he was able to exit to a thunderous ovation from his devoted fans, and he addressed the fans after the game.
