David Wright crushes upper-deck homer in 1st at-bat since April

PHILADELPHIA – David Wright was in the starting lineup hitting fourth for a reason, explained Mets manager Terry Collins.

“Because he kills left-hand pitching,” Collins said.

Well, Wright killed the third pitch he saw from Phillies starter Adam Morgan on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park.

Wright pulverized a 1-1 fastball to left for a long home run in his first major league at-bat since April 14. Wright originally went on the disabled list with a strained hamstring and then was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. He missed 115 games before hitting his second home run of the season.
