Former New York Mets manager Davey Johnson is now out of the hospital after receiving treatments for COVID-19, according to former team spokesman Jay Horwitz.
Horwitz initially tweeted that he spoke with Johnson briefly on Friday, writing: "Thinking of Davey Johnson who is in a Florida hospital bed battling Covid. His leadership, determination and spirit led the @Mets to the 1986 championship. No one will battle Covid like him. We are pulling for you, Davey."
In a follow-up tweet Friday night, Horwitz said he spoke to Johnson's wife, who said the former manager is now home and resting comfortably.
