Seventeen baseballs formed in the shape of a heart lay Tuesday night on the doorstep of the house where Ursaline Hamilton and her two sons live, one of the baseballs bearing a Bible reference scribbled in red ink, another with the inscription, "We're praying for you." The heart-wrenching display placed on the flagstone entrance to the home is a tribute to the man at the center of the boys' lives — their father Darryl Hamilton.
Hamilton, the former Mets outfielder and MLB Network analyst, was gunned down on Father's Day as he returned another son, 14-month-old Jaxon, to the home of Monica Jordan, Jaxon's mother.
