New York Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud received a platelet-rich-plasma injection and will be resting indefinitely from a shoulder injury, assistant GM John Ricco told reporters before Monday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
D'Arnaud saw an orthopedist on Monday, but there was no change in his diagnosis of a strained rotator cuff.
"It's just going to take more time," Ricco said. "... Clearly he's not ready yet."
Manager Terry Collins said over the weekend it was "pretty discouraging" when d'Arnaud, who was placed on the disabled list on April 25, felt discomfort after attempting to throw for the first time.
