As the Mets continue to put together their roster ahead of the 2025 season, left-handed reliever Danny Coulombe could make for an appealing signing. Having spent the past two seasons with the Orioles, Coulombe wound up a free agent when Baltimore declined a $4 million team option on him for next year.
Since the beginning of the 2023 season, Coulombe has thrown a total of 81.0 innings with a 2.56 ERA, a 2.83 FIP, and an outstanding 5.4 percent walk rate. Among relievers who’ve thrown at least 50 innings combined over the course of those two seasons, that walk rate is the 17th-best rate in baseball—out of 292 relievers.
