MIAMI - Terry Collins leaned back in his chair Monday and rooted for anarchy.
The Mets manager had grown tired of speculation that veteran Dillon Gee was taking the mound against the Marlins last night with his spot in the rotation on the line. He bristled at that notion even with his potential replacement, Rafael Montero, lined up to pitch Tuesday night.
The manager insisted that Montero had been tapped to start only as a way to build in extra rest for the team's starters, not as a way to supplant Gee.
"I hope he throws a suckin' no-hitter," Collins said of Gee.
