Daniel Murphy walked out of Citi Field on Monday evening, still stunned the Mets weren’t in Kansas City preparing for Game 6 of the World Series.
“It hasn’t sunk in yet,” Murphy said. “This is the first time in eight months we’re not playing a game. It doesn’t feel right.”
Instead, Murphy and his teammates — for now — headed in different directions and the second baseman is among those unsure if he’ll be back next season.
“I really haven’t thought about that too much yet,” Murphy said. “I think as a group we’re still processing what happened.
