The Mets have lost seven in a row. They have fallen out of first place and a season that began with such promise is going down the tubes. But Keith Hernandez, SNY analyst and member of the 1986 World Champs says this is no time for the Mets to panic.
“I don’t trade any young players, I don’t want any veteran here, I don’t want a 36-year-old (Ben Zobrist),” said Hernandez from the Daily News offices during a podcast with sports editor Bill Price and media columnist Bob Raissman. “This is a team I think has a future and I want young players to be a part of the future, where this team can forward with a nucleus the fan base can know and like and watch them develop.
