Michael Cuddyer will not be playing tonight in Miami due to a sore wrist. Cuddyer is currently unable to close his hand, per Adam Rubin of ESPN New York. Cuddyer has dealt with wrist issues in the past, both in his time with the Twins and the Rockies. This is the first we’ve heard about a wrist issue this season.
Thoughts:
With Daniel Murphy and Lucas Duda sidelined, the Mets options at first base are very limited without Cuddyer. Expect to see Kelly Johnson get the start tonight against the righty Tom Koehler, and possibly the return of Eric Campbell tomorrow night against lefty Brad Hand.
