Cuddyer exits after getting hit in hand, X-rays negative

It appears David Wright will be out of the Mets lineup for several weeks, but his buddy Michael Cuddyer expects to be back much quicker after taking a pitch to his left hand that forced him from Tuesday night’s game.

The pitch from Phillies starter David Buchanan struck Cuddyer in the left hand in the second inning and he immediately left the game. X-rays came back negative and the Mets are calling it a bruise.

“The way it feels right now, I don’t foresee missing much time if any,” Cuddyer said after the Mets’ 6-5 win.

Cuddyer said the pitch hit him on the outside of the hand by a knuckle.
