Re “Talking Cure: A Psychiatrist Tries to Heal Mets Fans” (letter, Nov. 3):
I am surprised that the good doctor doesn’t see the problem for what it truly is.
Perhaps it is because he lives in New York. But here in Illinois, home of the Chicago Cubs, we are very familiar with this phenomenon, this dark mood, and its true nature.
Forget reframing, forget trying to change your mood. New York is suffering from what I like to call “post-seasonal affective disorder.”
These are indeed dark days, but as the days again begin to lengthen, despair will wane and hope will flower again in New York, Chicago and throughout the land.
