Michael Conforto homered and Seth Lugo allowed one run in six innings during the Mets' minor league game against the Nationals today in Port St. Lucie.
Lugo, who beat out Zack Wheeler for the fifth spot in the starting rotation, tossed 73 pitches (52 strikes) while allowing six hits, walking one, and striking out seven.
He is slated to start the Mets' fifth game of the season, on April 3 against the Phillies at Citi Field.
Conforto, who will remain in Florida to continue getting into game shape as he works his way back from shoulder surgery, is ahead of schedule.
