Colon, Mets lose to Phillies, Matz start pushed back a day

PHILADELPHIA — Steven Matz may have his scheduled start for Wednesday pushed back because of stiffness on his right side. The Mets rookie said that just he slept on his right side incorrectly and is not concerned about this being an injury.

Sandy Alderson said the he did not expect this to be anything serious. The Mets GM admitted that it is just making the Mets more cautious in making a decision about their fourth starter, but the Long Island native is expected to be on the Mets postseason roster.

The lefthander has a history of injury problems and most recently pitched with stiffness on his left side in July before being diagnosed with a partially torn lat muscle.
