Bartolo Colon and the Mets extended their winning streaks Friday — with defensive help from Juan Lagares — in a 4-1 win over the Marlins at Citi Field.
Colon improved to 3-0, going seven innings and allowing one run on six hits with five strikeouts as the Mets won their sixth in a row for the first time since 2011. Colon pitched six shutout innings after Giancarlo Stanton homered in the first.
Colon also delivered his second RBI in as many games. His fifth-inning sacrifice fly tied the score at 1, two batters after Wilmer Flores got the Mets’ first hit off Marlins starter David Phelps (4 2/3 innings, one run, one hit, three walks, including two in the fifth).
