Colon beats Orioles as Mets offense finally wakes up

METS 3, ORIOLES 2

After two shutouts, nearly four days and 21.1 innings, the Mets’ offense finally broke through.

Bartolo Colon struck out nine and and the Mets scored three runs - what could be considered an offensive outburst these days - and with a 3-2 win over the Orioles Tuesday, they snapped a two-game losing streak in front of a small crowd at Citi Field.

It was just the second win for the Mets (17-10) in their last seven games and it evened their record in interleague play this season to 2-2.
