Manager Terry Collins said the Mets’ bullpen is tired after back-to-back extra-inning games and will have starter Bartolo Colon be available to throw one inning of relief if needed Saturday.
New York’s bullpen threw seven scoreless innings in Thursday’s 13-inning win against the Phillies and allowed six runs in four innings Friday vs. the Red Sox.
Collins said the Mets will wait to bring a fresh arm into their bullpen, but will have Colon, originally slated to throw a side session between starts, available to pitch one inning “in case we need an inning from him.
