Collins sees upside in Rosario, Conforto as Mets start preseason routine

New York Mets manager Terry Collins spoke to the media on Monday in Port St. Lucie, Florida, as the team readies for its first spring training game this Friday.

  • He said Fernando Salas would become the Mets' eighth-inning set-up man "because he has done it before, because he has been successful at it" in the event closer Jeurys Familia is suspended under the MLB's domestic violence policy.
  • He said he was looking forward to seeing how shortstop Amed Rosario, considered one of the top prospects in baseball, will play this spring.
