David Wright won't play in exhibition games this week, Terry Collins told reporters Sunday.
On Friday, Wright said he wasn't sure when he would get on the field a year after missing 115 games dealing with spinal stenosis.
The Daily News' Kristie Ackert reported Saturday that the team was hoping Wright can play by March 18, but Wright did not have a target date (March 5).
"When the season was over, part of the thing he was told was to really rest -- to completely rest," Collins said. "No exercise.
