Collins’, Alderson’s tough Harvey talk won’t fix ugly situation

Sandy Alderson knows his team’s fan base is antsy, about the Mets in general and Matt Harvey in particular. So the Mets general manager wound up embarking on a peacekeeping mission of sorts Monday, first in a chat with local veterans and then with a handful of media members.

“I don’t think 2007, 2008 means a lot to players,” Alderson said at the St. Albans Community Living Center in Queens. “I understand it means a lot to the fans who were around during that period of time. Our focus has to be on winning games and having as positive an attitude toward each and every game as we possibly can.
