Clutch hit eludes Mets in sloppy loss to Phillies, presented by W.B. Mason

Logan Verrett pitched six solid innings but the Mets' offense again spun its wheels, going 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position in a 4-2 loss to the Phillies on Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park.

  • Asdrubal Cabrera's errant throw on Peter Bourjos' routine grounder put the go-ahead run on base with one out in the bottom of the seventh. After a walk to Cody Asche, Hansel Robles relieved Jerry Blevins and allowed a soft single that scored the eventual game-winner.
