On Friday, Jeurys Familia had one of those high wire saves where he didn’t have his best stuff, but was bailed out by Nick Markakis hitting into a game ending double play.
It should only highlight the fact that the garden variety Mets closer gave you heart attacks every game. So I sit here in the wee hours of Friday night/Saturday morning thanking my lucky stars for Familia, who doesn’t kill us every game like some I could mention.
It had to be tough for Familia on Friday, especially when Freddie Freeman couldn’t touch his fastball but Familia had no command of the off-speed stuff.
