The New York Mets announced today that Citi Field’s address will officially change to 41 Seaver Way on June 27. The Mets and the City of New York will hold a ceremony on Thursday to honor The Franchise and officially rename 126th Street between Roosevelt Avenue and Northern Boulevard to Seaver Way.
The Mets originally announced the address change back in March, prior to the start of the 2019 season. The news came shortly after it was revealed that the Mets legend had been diagnosed with dementia and would be retiring from public life.
