Christian Scott to undergo Tommy John surgery

Mets right-hander Christian Scott is slated to undergo Tommy John surgery next week. Scott landed on the injured list on July 23rd with a UCL sprain, which is a typical precursor to Tommy John. The plan had been to try rest and rehab, and Scott had progressed to throwing off a mound as of the end of August. It seems, however, that his arm didn’t respond well to that ramp up, and he’ll now undergo the en vogue hybrid procedure (ligament replacement combined with an internal brace) that will both end his season and likely keep him out for the entirety of 2025.
