Choice Office Solutions president stole Mets owner's identity in $3.5 million fraud scheme, FBI says

Authorities said New York Mets chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon was one of the victims of a multimillion-dollar fraud scheme orchestrated by a New Jersey man arrested Wednesday by the FBI.

It appears that neither the Mets nor Wilpon sustained any financial loss in the fraudulent transactions, but rather that the defendant made false claims of deals with the team to solicit third-party investments.
