Chase Utley appeal hearing won’t occur until after NLDS

If Chase Utley does eventually serve a suspension for the takeout slide against Ruben Tejada that broke the Mets shortstop’s leg, it will not be during the Dodgers-Mets NLDS.

The appeal hearing on Utley’s two-game ban issued by Major League Baseball has been scheduled for Monday — after the NLDS is completed — The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed.

When Joe Torre, MLB’s chief baseball officer, originally announced the ban on Utley for his Game 2 play, the suspension was for Games 3 and 4 at Citi Field. Utley appealed and thus was eligible to continue playing. The NLDS is not scheduled to go later than Game 5 Thursday in Los Angeles, barring torrential rains of Biblical proportions.
