New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes went 0 for 3 with an RBI in his first rehab game with High-A St. Lucie on Monday.
As a designated hitter, Cespedes struck out in the first inning, lined out in the third inning and grounded into a run-scoring force out in the fifth inning. He left four runners on base.
Cespedes, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Aug. 3 with a quad injury, is expected to play two more games with St. Lucie before the Mets activate him ahead of this weekend's series against the San Francisco Giants, manager Terry Collins told reporters on Monday.
