Cespedes exits with bruised fingers as Mets lose beanball battle

PHILADELPHIA — Yoenis Cespedes was removed from Wednesday’s game at Citizens Bank Park in the third inning after getting drilled in the left hand/wrist area with a Justin De Fratus fastball.

The Mets did not provide an immediate update on the outfielder’s status. Cespedes crumpled to the ground in agony after getting hit and walked off the field with trainer Ray Ramirez. Cespedes was replaced by Kirk Nieuwenhuis.
