Last night, Pete Alonso won the Home Run Derby, defeating Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the final round to take home the title. In doing so, Alonso introduced himself on a national stage and presumably won over lots of new fans with his humble, joyful approach to the festivities.

Alonso is also on the National League’s All-Star roster this year and figures to get some playing time in that game.
