The Mets are starting to line up candidates for their next manager.
Former Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran and Diamondbacks farm director Mike Bell will interview for the vacant position, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed. Ex-Yankees manager Joe Girardi will also receive an in-person interview with the Mets. MLB Network was first to report that Girardi, who is interviewing with the Cubs on Wednesday, would sit down with Mets brass. The Athletic first reported Beltran and Bell would get an interview.
Beltran has an acrimonious history with the franchise and there is skepticism within the industry that he would ultimately take the job.
