Carlos Beltran won’t be sad to see the record he shares fall. In fact, the former Mets outfielder will be thrilled when Pete Alonso sets a new franchise mark for most home runs in a single season.
“I love to see guys breaking records and setting higher standards for generations to come,” Beltran told The Post in a phone interview Thursday. “Honestly, [having the record] is something that I don’t really think about. I just hope for him to continue to do his job and continue to have a good season. Records are made to be broken and I like to see especially younger guys doing well in baseball.
