As the Mets continue their search for the team’s next manager, the field is down to a few finalists: Carlos Beltran, Joe Girardi, Tim Bogar, and Eduardo Perez. That’s according to Ken Rosenthal, who tweeted those names last night and mentioned that they will all get a second in-person interview with the Mets.
Beltran is, of course, one of the greatest position players in Mets history. While his time with the Mets as a player came to a pretty rocky end, it’s been pointed out that he has connections to current Mets front office members Allen Baird and Omar Minaya, both of whom were there for significant moments of his career as a player when they were working in other roles.
