Carlos Beltran is out as Mets manager after he and the team agreed to part ways in the wake of Beltran being named in MLB’s report on the Astros’ cheating scandal. The report said Beltran had a role in the 2017 Astros’ illegal sign-stealing scheme.
Beltran, who previously claimed to The Post’s Joel Sherman that he did nothing illegal, addressed the scandal in a statement to ESPN’s Marly Rivera.
“Over my 20 years in the game, I’ve always taken pride in being a leader and doing things the right way, and in this situation, I failed,” Beltran told Rivera.
