CHICAGO — Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong is the latest to weigh in on the Chase Utley uproar, and Mets fans will not be happy to hear what he had to say.
Wong was asked if there were any way for Ruben Tejada to protect himself on Utley’s high-and-hard slide before the Cubs’ 8-6 victory Monday night over the Cards at Wrigley Field.
“In that case you can’t,” he said. “[Utley’s] trying to make something happen out of a play that — it was pretty good of [Daniel] Murphy just to get that ball in the first place.
